I started making another pinhole camera in October last year. The last one I made was a little bit too big, and not so handsome (the right on the photo). The one I am aiming for is a pinhole camera that I can carry with my business trip. Don’t you think it is kind of cool if you pick up a pinhole camera from your bag on your business trip?
So I made another effort to make a camera that is closer to my ideal pinhole camera. The green one in the middle is the one. I named it “Pistachio”. You can tell why I named it. It holds 120 medium format film and take 6x6 photo.
I have learned basic know-how from the last time. I managed to make it smaller than the last one.

The previous model was made of two boxes putting together. This structure was the reason why it became so bulky.

This time, therefore, I redesigned the whole thing. You set a film in the body, slide the rear panel, and close the top panel. This helped to make it smaller than previous one.
Well, how does it shoot? Here it is!

I am very satisfied with the sharpness of the photo. I, however, am not very happy with vignette. You can say that it is OK. But I think it is a little too much. I should be able to fix this by making the focal length longer (Pistachio is 20mm). In addition, there is a small light leak at the bottom right.
It is still not perfect. I am going to embark on making “Pistachio Mark II” to overcome these problems.
I will let you know how "Pistachio Mark II" will come out!
