Every time I clean my house, I find some screws.
Very often, screws are used with washers and nuts. I, therefore, should find them as well as screws. But, you know what? I seldom see them. All I find is just screws, for some reason.
It is extremely rare for me to able to spot what crew they are. I have to ask my family what these screws are, since I can’t figure out by myself. They are my family, they can’t figure out either. All they can say is “they should be for something”. The very fact that I already knew.
The other possibility is that my loving wife will one day say “Oh, the screw you found last week must be for (whatever she can think of). You shouldn’t have tossed them away.” This is another reason why I keep these stray screws.
If you keep those stray screws for years, you would end up with pretty impressive collection of screws. My tool box was full of these screws and weighs a lot.
Well, let me think twice.
By the time you find a screw, it obviously is not functioning as a screw. But I didn’t find any malfunction with any of my stuffs.
OK. Here is what I will do from now on. Every time I find screws, I will throw them away into a trash can.
Well, I eventually decided to be a brave man. I threw them away last weekend. I felt so good. I slept better than any other night in my life.
Several days has passed. OMG! I have just found a screw is missing from my sofa today!
